Health Minister Ahmed Naseem has said that a booster shot for the Coronavirus vaccine may be necessary for the future.

Under their " Last One Mile Support " program, the Japanese Government had handed over 112,000 doses of the AstraZeneca Vaccine today.

Speaking to the press after receiving the vaccine, Minister Naseem said that this was a really good program and that the vaccine doses will come in handy in the future when a booster shot is administered.

However, the Minister did not give any further details regarding the administration of the booster shot.

While the Health Minister has mentioned the booster shot, the Food & Drug Authority (FDA) in the USA has approved booster shots for those with compromised immune systems. The USA is expected to administer booster shots for Moderna and Pfizer.
