Criminal Court has ordered for one of the key suspects of the May 6th Terrorist Attack on Parliament Speaker, former President Mohamed Nasheed to be detained until the end of his trial.

An official of the Prosecutor General's Office revealed to One Online that while the court ordered to detain Haisham, they did not bring any changes to the earlier decision to detain the remaining three main suspects until the end of their trials.

Haisham has been pressed with three charges in connection to the case; conspiracy to carry out an act of terrorism, aiding in transporting an explosive, and participating in carrying out an act of terrorism.

Police had originally requested charges against five suspects in connection to the case. But the State decided not to file charges against one of the suspects - Ahmed Fathih, 23, Dhunfini Ufaa, L. Gan - citing lack of sufficient evidence.

The five remaining suspects in custody are Is’haq, M. Kudhehige, K. Male’; Fahumy Ali, Hudhuruvaage, GA. Vilingili; Mohamed Nazim, Asareege, AA. Maalhos; Abdulla Ali Manik, Bahaaruge, HA. Molhadhoo; Mohamed Thasleem, Alanaasige, HA. Hoarafushi.
