152 tested positive today, 29 from Male'

The total number of COVID-19 cases in the country has risen to 79,289 after 152 people have tested positive in the past 24 hours.

Health Protection Agency (HPA) said that from 6 p.m. yesterday to 6 p.m. today, 29 people tested positive in the Male' area along with 83 from the atolls and 40 from the resorts.

In the same time frame, 96 people recovered from COVID-19 raising the total number of recoveries in the country to 77,373 with another 1,682 people still in treatment.

There has been 222 COVID-related deaths in the Maldives that includes 205 locals, 17 foreign nationals. Maldives reported its first COVID-19 related death on 29 April 2020.
