Four more islands have been brought under monitoring after coronavirus cases were reported from the islands.

Health Protection Agency (HPA) reported that B. Eydhafushi, B. Kamadhoo, HDh. Makunudhoo along with ADh. Hangnaameedhoo has been brought under monitoring.

With this, a total of 13 islands in the Maldives are now under monitoring.

Eydhafushi was brought under monitoring after some patients who went to the flu clinic tested positive. All other islands were also brought under monitoring for the same reasons.

While the number of cases now slowly decreasing, there are more cases in the atolls compared to the capital.

So far there are 222 covid-19 deaths in the Maldives.
