Thakandhoo Water and Sewerage Project moving rapidly

Male' Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC) has said that the water and sewerage project at Haa Alifu Atoll Thakandhoo is moving forward rapidly.

Taking to Twitter this morning, MWSC said that the building for the RO Water Plant is currently ongoing while the pipe and other materials required for the water and sewerage network has been taken to the island.

As part of the water network of the project, 8.37 km of pipe would be installed along with the development of the RO Facility building where two RO plants will be installed with three tanks to store water.

The project also entails installing water meters at the the properties and houses of the island and connect to the water network to provide safe drinking water.

The sewerage aspect of the project entails a.6.30 km network, a 1.04 km pumping line, developing an administrative building and a sea outflow along with connecting houses to the network.

MWSC said that they are also providing the generator sets, vehicles and the equipment to test the water.

Thakandhoo Water and Sewerage Project was contracted to MWSC for MVR 76.7 million to be completed within 540 days.
