Waste Management Corporation (WAMCO) has decided to end the doorstep waste collection brought in to effect due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Managing Director of WAMCO, Adam Mohamed told One Online that a team from the Male' City Council met with WAMCO and a decision was made at the meeting to end the procedure where households bring out daily waste out to the road for collection.

The WAMCO Managing Director said that collecting waste directly from the house would eliminate the issue of unpaid fees.

He said that 50 percent of the households in Male' using their services have not made payments which is costing the company.
