Former Minister of Fisheries, Marine Resources and Agriculture, Zaha Waheed has been appointed as the Minister at the President's Office.
Spokesperson of the President's Office, Mohamed Mabrook Azeez spoke to One Online today confirming Zaha's appointment to the position saying that the appointment was made today.
With the decision to dismiss her from the position of the Minister of Fisheries and Agriculture, Zaha handed in her resignation to the President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih on 5 May. And speculations were made back then as well that the position of Minister at the President's Office was offered to her.
After Zaha's departure, then Minister of Environment, Dr. Hussain Rasheed Hassan was appointed as the Fisheries Minister.
It is the Constitutional authority of the President to make changes to his cabinet.
Currently there are three other Ministers at the President's Office alongside Zaha. They are, Ali Shiyam; Mohamed Shiraz and Ahmed Sameer.
