President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has said that there are differences in opinion between him and Speaker of Parliament, Mohamed Nasheed.
The President made the remark during a press briefing held on Wednesday at the President's Office. He said that sometimes there are differences of opinion between Speaker Nasheed and him over political matters. President Solih further added that such differences were also there when Speaker Nasheed was the President.
President Solih also noted that during Naheed's tenure as the President, decisions were carefully made based on a lot of factors and added that however sometimes those decisions did not align with his views and opinions.
He further added that there are differences of opinion between him and Speaker Nasheed even now, however stressed that as the President his decisions are based on a lot of different factors.
While President Solih made the remarks today, Speaker Nasheed had previously said that he will no longer be able to work with President Solih and expressed his wish to work with opposition PPM.
