After the resignation of an elected member of the Maldives Media Council (MMC), applications have been opened to appoint a new member.

MMC said that applicants need to submit their application forms before 1:30 p.m. of 17 August 2021.

The term of a member of the MMC is two years and members are not allowed two consecutive terms.

Requirements to be a general member of the MMC are two fold: A person with Higher Education in Law, Language, Human Rights, Religion or Social Sciences and they need to be a person who had or continue to work towards social development.
