Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has said that 41 percent of the Shaviyani Atoll Foakaidhoo Harbor Development Project has been completed.

Taking to Twitter this morning, MTCC said that the second shipment of rock boulders required for the breakwater construction have been delivered to the project site.

Fokaidhoo Harbor Project entails 39,995 cubic meters of Andes harbor space, dredging 1,800 cubic meters to the area currently in use, expanding the port entrance to 4,000 cubic meters, 507 meters of outer sea wall, 464 meters of revetment, 100 meters of inner sea wall, 2,320 square meters of pavement along with the installation of port and harbor lights.

The value of the project is MVR 52.7 million and was mobilized in September 2020.
