The total number of COVID-19 related to the Maldives has risen to 221 after another person has passed away.
Senior Administrator of Dhuvaafaru Health Center, Amir Ahmed revealed to One Online that a 45 year wold female had passed away today. She passed away this evening at Dhuvaafaru Health Center while being treated for breathing difficulties.
Amir added that following the death, islanders had been protesting outside the health center.
This marks the second death from the island today. Last Tuesday, a 66 year old male in the island had also passed away.
The counter reported its first COVID-related death on 29 April 2020 while the highest number of COVID-19 related deaths on a single day was reported on 25 May 2021 with 13 deaths.
