A fire incident inside a room at the Vilimale' Orphanage has caused massive damage.

MNDF said that the fire was reported at 6:03 a.m. this morning and the Fire and Rescue Service had controlled the fire by 7:10 a.m.

While the room along with all that was inside took heavy damage, MNDF said that no one was injured in the fire.

As the Maldives Police Service investigates the fire this morning, a similar fire inside a room at the orphanage took play in May of this year as well.

The speculation at the was that the fire was set intentionally after a confrontation between two children.
