81 tested positive today, 20 from Male'

The total number of COVID-19 cases has risen to 76,627 after 81 people have tested positive in the past 24 hours.

Health Protection Agency (HPA) said that from 6 p.m. yesterday to 6 p.m. today, 20 people tested positive in the Male' area along with 44 from the atolls and 17 people from the resorts.

In the same time frame, 85 people recovered from COVID-19 raising the total number of recoveries in the country to 73,795 with another 2,601 people still in treatment.

There have been 219 COVID-related deaths in the Maldives that includes 202 locals, 16 foreign nationals. Maldives reported its first COVID-19 related death on 29 April 2020.
