President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and the First Lady Fazna Ahmed has returned to the Maldives this morning after an unofficial visit to the neighboring Sri Lanka.

Spokesperson of the President's Office, Mabrook Azeez said that the President and the First Lady returned to the country at 8:12 a.m. this morning.

The two visited Sri Lanka on an unofficial visit on the day of Eid al-Alha on 20 July 2021 after official visits to three islands in the northern atolls.

The government declared 16 days of public holiday with the Eid and the Maldivian Independence Day on 26 July. Offices will open on 1 August 2021.
