Indian National Airline, Air India has decided to resume flights between India and Maldives with flights from Mumbai.
The airline suspended its flights when the Maldives closed its borders to South Asian tourists amid the peak of the COVID-19 cases in the region this year.
Air India is resuming flights as the restrictions have started to open up again. The airline said they they are resuming flights next Wednesday with two flights a week on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
Before the peak of COVID-19 cases in the Maldives, India was the largest tourist market for the country with Bollywood stars and their families visiting the country on holiday.
