The total number of COVID-19 cases has risen to 76,019 after 140 people have tested positive in the past 24 hours.
Health Protection Agency (HPA) said that from 6 p.m. yesterday to 6 p.m. today, 59 people tested positive in the Male' area along with 74 from the atolls and ten people from the resorts.
In the same time frame, 95 people recovered from COVID-19 raising the total number of recoveries in the country to 73,321 with another 2,470 people still in treatment.
There have been 216 COVID-related deaths in the Maldives that includes 199 locals, 16 foreign nationals. Maldives reported its first COVID-19 related death on 29 April 2020.
