Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) said that the Maldives Police Service has been mobilized following the report of two people carrying an explosive device near the official residence of the President, Muliaage.

Police said that two people who went past Muliaage has claimed that they had a bomb in a box they had. And so, the two people have been arrested and they are working with the MNDF in the area.

However, when One Online journalists arrived at the area, only the usual armed guards at the Muliaage were present.
