MET: Severe weather in Maldives for the next four days

Maldives Meteorological Service has said that severe weather is expected on the Maldives for the next four days.

The MET Office said that with the effects of the southwest monsoon is going to get stronger resulting in widespread rain, occasionally heavy showers, strong winds, and rough seas are expected for the subsequent four days.

Winds are expected to between 15 to 25 mph and 50 to 60 mpha during showers according to the MET Office. With severe expected upto Saturday, the MET Office has warned of potential swell waves affecting some islands.

Meanwhile, seafarers are advised to be extra cautious and be vigilant of the weather changes and acquire the latest information before traveling.
