MP for Meedhoo constituency, Rozaina Adam has raised the question of the point of getting vaccinated of those who has received two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine receives no ease from restrictions.
Yesterday saw an ease the restrictions on place due to COVID-19. However, the lack of an ease to those who has already received two doses of the vaccine has attracted criticism and anger the government.
Ease of restrictions announced yesterday include those who have recovered from COVID to travel between the Islands without quarantines.
MP Rozaina tool to Twitter today stating that if people who has recovered from COVID can travel to the islands without having to quarantine, those who have received two doses of the vaccine can travel as well. And asked what the point of the vaccinations were if the restrictions does not ease.
Previously, the Health Protection Agency (HPA) has made a similar rule to allow vaccinated individuals to travel without having to quarantine; which led to large group of people to gather at the vaccination centres causing delays in the process.
When the COVID-19 death toll spiked with over 2,000 cases a day in the fourth wave, strict measures were imposed and traveling between islands without a permit was banned.
