Ooredoo Maldives has reduced the price of their internet services.
As the new regulations on low internet prices come in to effect tomorrow, Ooredoo has announced major price reductions to their internet packages.
The CEO of Ooredoo Maldives, Hussain Niyaz said that their fixed broadband internet has undergone major changes with packages getting over 100 times their previous amount of data while the prices have dropped lower than 50 percent.
Highlighting that all of their internet packages throttle at 5 Mbps aside from the lowest package, Niyaz said that the data will be rolling over from the previous month for all SuperNet customers.
He said that the SuperNet customers also get access to their loyalty program, Club Premier.
Changes to the internet packages:
- 30 GB at 5 Mbps for MVR 250 with a throttled speed of 2 Mbps
- 100 GB at 15 Mbps for MVR 500 with a throttled speed of 5 Mbps
- 200 GB at 25 Mbps for MVR 750 with a throttled speed of 5 Mbps
Reducing the price of the internet was a campaign pledge of the current administration.
The government said that they would be regulating the price and quality of the internet services when the price reduction policy gets implemented.
