Maldives has announced that the country will open its borders to South Asian tourists, under a set of new rules and regulations.
The announcement was made during a press conference by President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and Health Minister Ahmed Naseem.
As such, South Asians will now be able to travel to the Maldives with a work permit, however, they are required to undergo a 14-day mandatory quarantine.
The country also plans to open its border to South Asian travelers starting July 15th,, although this will be implemented based on the situation of South Asia by then.
Maldives temporarily stopped issuing visas to South Asians as Covid-19 was spreading rapidly.
