Maldivian Coast Guard has provided assistance to a cargo ship traveling from USA to Taiwan after a crew member onboard with a serious health condition.

MNDF said that the Southern Area Coast Guard Squadron received the request for assistance on Saturday and after acquiring the permits from the relevant authorities, the person in distress was transported to Feydhoo, Addu City, at 11:27 a.m. this morning.

The ship was out towards Gan, Addu City, when it made the distress call and transport was made after the vessel got close to eight nautical miles east of Gan, according to MNDF.
