The curfew in Greater Male' Region has been shortened from 6:00pm till 4:00am.

Speaking during a press conference, the Spokesperson at the President's Office Mabrook Aziz said that based on current Covid numbers, some ease of restrictions has been introduced.

As such the current 4:00pm to 4:00am curfew has been shorted to 6:00pm till 4:00am.

He noted that shortening the curfew period also allowed businesses to remain open for services for two more hours.

Mabrook added that even though the curfew has been shortened, people will only be allowed to go outside during non-curfew hours with a household permit.

The ease of restrictions come after Covid-19 numbers has seen a significant decrease in the Maldives.
