The country's total number of COVID-19 cases has risen to 72,294 after 145 people have tested positive in the past 24 hours.

Health Protection Agency (HPA) said that from 6 p.m. yesterday to 6 p.m. today, 61 people tested positive in the Male' area along with 77 from the atolls.

In the same time frame, 359 people recovered from COVID-19 raising the total number of recoveries in the country to 67,507 with another 4,569 people still in treatment.

There have been 207 COVID-related deaths in the Maldives that includes 191 locals, 16 foreign nationals. Maldives reported its first COVID-19 related death on 29 April 2020.
