Health Protection Agency (HPA) has reported 218 new cases of Covid-19 today.

The total number of Covid-19 cases is now 71,356 after another 218 people test positive for the illness today.

Health Protection Agency (HPA) said that from 6 p.m. yesterday to 6 p.m. today, 218 people have tested positive including 56 people in Male' area and 116 from the atolls. HPA did not clarify numbers in terms of locals and foreigners.

In the same time frame, 1,034 people recovered from COVID-19 raising the total number of recoveries in the country to 64,214 with another 6,930 people still in treatment.

So far, there have been 201 caCOVID-related deaths in the Maldives that includes 186 locals, 15 foreign nationals.
