The amount of expenditure of the State within the past week has been MVR 4000 million less than revenue generated.

The financial report published last Saturday by the Ministry of Finance and Treasury stated that the State had earned MVR 23, 339.8 million through revenue and aid. The report also stated that expenditures had peaked at MVR 27, 342.3 million.

As such, the past week had run up MVR 8,949.7 million in expenditures for running various sectors. The amount of expenditures for paying salary and wages were up to MVR 9, 529.2 million.

The highest generators of revenue for the State were through tax payments and import duties. The publishing of weekly revenue reports was a campaign pledge of President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.
