President of the Elections Commission, Ahmed Shareef, has said that the Elections Commission (EC) would not get personal with any political party.

Shareef made the statement at the inauguration ceremony of the logo and colors of the Commission last night. He said that some media outlets have been publishing false information about the Elections Commission. Shareef said that it is important to fact check the statements being made about the Commission by political parties because some people accepts media publications as 100 percent accurate.

The EC President said that the allegations being made against the EC that states the Commission has a personal bias against PPM and other parties connected to PPM are false. He said that if efforts are being made within the law to hold the EC accountable, EC would be answering. Shareef said that EC has never been bias against any political party or any individual member of the public and never going to be in the future.

Shareef also said that all clerical preparations for the parliament election has been completed and announced that applications have been opened for candidates to run in the election.
