The total number of COVID-19 recoveries has risen to 55,055 after another 1,663 people have recovered from the illness.

Health Protection Agency (HPA) said that from 6 p.m. yesterday to 6 p.m. today, 1,663 people recovered from COVID-19 raising the total number of recoveries in the country to 55,055 with another 14,281 people still in treatment.

In the same time frame, 323 people have tested positive including 163 people in Male' area and 143 from the atolls. HPA did not clarify numbers in terms of locals and foreigners.

So far, there have been 191 COVID-related deaths in the Maldives that includes 176 locals, 15 foreign nationals.
