The total number of COVID-19 recoveries has risen to 53,392 after another 2,179 people have recovered from the illness.

Health Protection Agency (HPA) said that from 6 p.m. yesterday to 6 p.m. today, 2,179 people recovered from COVID-19 raising the total number of recoveries in the country to 53,392 with another 15,621 people still in treatment.

In the same time frame, 341 people have tested positive including 160 people in Male' area and 153 from the atolls. HPA did not clarify numbers in terms of locals and foreigners.

So far, there have been 191 COVID-related deaths in the Maldives that includes 176 locals, 15 foreign nationals.
