Covid-19 situation worsens in the Maldives as HPA reports 412 new cases today.

The total number of Covid-19 cases is now 67,950 after another 412 people test positive for the illness today.

Health Protection Agency (HPA) said that from 6 p.m. yesterday to 6 p.m. today, 412 people have tested positive including 239 people in Male' area and 162 from the atolls. HPA did not clarify numbers in terms of locals and foreigners.

In the same time frame, 753 people recovered from COVID-19 raising the total number of recoveries in the country to 48,086 with another 19,670 people still in treatment.

So far, there have been 185 COVID-related deaths in the Maldives that includes 170 locals, 15 foreign nationals.
