Covid-19 situation worsens in the Maldives as HPA reports 648 new cases today.
The total number of Covid-19 cases is now 66,516 after another 648 people test positive for the illness today.
Health Protection Agency (HPA) said that from 6 p.m. yesterday to 6 p.m. today, 648 people have tested positive including 349 people in Male' area and 270 from the atolls. HPA did not clarify numbers in terms of locals and foreigners.
In the same time frame, 828 people recovered from COVID-19 raising the total number of recoveries in the country to 43,959 with another 22,375 people still in treatment.
So far, there have been 173 COVID-related deaths in the Maldives that includes 159 locals, 14 foreign nationals.
