Covid-19 situation worsens in the Maldives as HPA reports 768 new cases today.

The total number of Covid-19 cases is now 65,164 after another 768 people test positive for the illness today.

Health Protection Agency (HPA) said that from 6 p.m. yesterday to 6 p.m. today, 768 people have tested positive including 373 people in Male' area and 357 from the atolls. HPA did not clarify numbers in terms of locals and foreigners.

In the same time frame, 834 people recovered from COVID-19 raising the total number of recoveries in the country to 40,951 with another 24,035 people still in treatment.

So far, there have been 169 COVID-related deaths in the Maldives that includes 155 locals, 14 foreign nationals.
