The total number of COVID-19 recoveries has risen to 34,159 after another 1,023 people have recovered from the illness.

Health Protection Agency (HPA) said that from 6 p.m. yesterday to 6 p.m. today, 1,023 people recovered from COVID-19 raising the total number of recoveries in the country to 34,159 with another 24,033 people still in treatment.

In the same time frame, 1,004 people have tested positive including 835 people in Male' area and 153 from the atolls. HPA did not clarify numbers in terms of locals and foreigners.

So far, there have been 144 COVID-related deaths in the Maldives that includes 130 locals, 14 foreign nationals.
