The government's announcement on lowering the price of internet in the country, initially set for today, has been pushed back to Thursday.

While the press event for today has been cancelled, the Spokesperson of the President's Office, Mohamed Mabrook Azeez said that the announcement was initially set for 10 a.m. this morning.

Reducing the price of internet in the Maldives is a camp pledge of the current administration. The government has previously said that they are in talks and a good change is coming.

Some sources have said that the changes in a span of three years by using the current internet service providers in the country, without bringing any new service providers.

However, there has been n common official word from any state institutes.

The government's new Minister of Environment, Climate Change and Technology, Aminath Shauna, too, said that the government is working on reducing the price.
