As Maldives battles its worst surge in Covid-19 cases, a curfew in Male' City has been extended while two permits are to be issued for each household for travel during non-curfew hours.
Speaking during a press conference at the HEOC, government spokesperson Mohamed Mabrook said that several restrictive measures are now being taken to curb the spread of Covid-19, including the extension of curfew timings. The new set of restrictions are effective from Wednesday, 26th May for a period of two weeks.
With the new movement restrictions, travel between Male', Hulhumale' and Villimale' is prohibited. For those who wish to go out between 8:00am and 4:00pm, a permit will be required. As such, only two permits will be issued for each household, with each permit having their own timeslot of validity.
