Three people have passed away today due to COVID-19.
One Online has learned that the first COVID-related death today was that of an 81-year-old local man who was dead on arrival at the Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) emergency room. Under the current regulations, samples are collected from the deceased and tested for COVID-19.
Two men of the ages 77 and 58 passed away in the early hours of this morning while undergoing treatment at the Hulhumale' COVID-19 Facility.
With these three most recent deaths, the total number of COVID-related deaths in the Maldives has risen to 132; that consists of 119 locals and 13 foreigners.
The country reported its first COVID-related death on 29 April 2020.
