Speaker of the Parliament, former President Mohamed Nasheed, who went to Berlin, Germany for treatment following the bombing attack, has been released from military hospital.

Following the terrorist attack on 6 May, the Speaker of the Parliament was being treated at ADK Hospital until left to Germany for further treatment on 13 May.

After a week, the family of the former President said that he was discharged from the hospital today.

Former President Nasheed's brother, Dr. Ibrahim Naashid told One Online that even though his brother was discharged from the hospital, he has to go back twice a week for a review.

Dr. Naashid said that a lot of scans and tests were done initially but no surgery was performed. And since the former President does not have a chronic illnrss, he is recovering at a good speed.

He said that the former President has to consult at the hospital for another month and so it is unclear when they would be returning to the country.

The Speaker of the Parliament was injuried in an IED explosion near his residence, that was attached to a motorcycle. The team from ADK Hospital that performed life-saving surgery on the former President said that there were 16 entries of projectiles from the explosion.
