The total number of COVID-19 recoveries has risen to 29,644 after another 558 people have recovered from the illness.
Health Protection Agency (HPA) said that from 6 p.m. yesterday to 6 p.m. today, 558 people recovered from COVID-19 raising the total number of recoveries in the country to 29,644 with another 18,843 people still in treatment.
In the same time frame, 1,187 people have tested positive including 965 people in Male' area and 214 from the atolls. HPA did not clarify numbers in terms of locals and foreigners.
As per HPA, out of the 1,187 cases being reported today, 438 cases are positive cases from samples collected between 6pm of 18th May and 6pm of 19th May.
So far, there have been 112 COVID-related deaths in the Maldives that includes 99 locals, 13 foreign nationals.
