Two people being treated at the COVID-19 treatment facility in Laamu Atoll Gan has passed away.

The two patients who passed away are a 66-year-old woman from L. Maavah and an 88-year-old man from the Mathimaradhoo district of Gan.

This most recent deaths have raised the number of COVID-19 related deaths in the country to 107.

Manager of Gan Hospital, Ali Nasheed told One Online today that the 88-year-old man passed away in the early hours of this morning.

Sources say that the man had been bed ridden for a long time and was confirmed positive for COVID-19 yesterday.

This may marks the highest death toll from COVID-19 in the country for a single month with 34 deaths so far.
