President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has conveyed greetings to President, Ram Nath Kovind and Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, on the occasion of India’s Republic Day.

The President’s Office informed that President Solih sent greetings separately to the President and Prime Minister of India on behalf of the Maldivian government and its people as well as himself.

In his message of commemoration, the President highlighted the age long relationship between Maldives and India in his greeting. The President’s Office also reported that the President expressed his gratitude for the invaluable assistance afforded by India to the progress of this country.

President Solih reportedly also expressed his wishes that the economic, political and cultural ties between both nations grow in the future.

The President’s greeting message concluded by conveying warm wishes of a prosperous and happy future to the people of India.
