The total number of COVID-19 recoveries has risen to 28,849 after another 390 people have recovered from the illness.
Health Protection Agency (HPA) said that from 6 p.m. yesterday to 6 p.m. today, 390 people recovered from COVID-19 raising the total number of recoveries in the country to 28,849 with another 16,997 people still in treatment.
In the same time frame, 1,233 people have tested positive including 1,294 people in Male' area and 134 from the atolls. HPA did not clarify numbers in terms of locals and foreigners.
As per HPA, out of the 1,433 cases being reported today, 594 cases are positive cases from samples collected between 6pm of 16th May and 6pm of 17th May.
So far, there have been 101 COVID-related deaths in the Maldives that includes 90 locals, 11 foreign nationals.
