The total number of COVID-19 recoveries has risen to 28,459 after another 446 people have recovered from the illness.

Health Protection Agency (HPA) said that from 6 p.m. yesterday to 6 p.m. today, 446 people recovered from COVID-19 raising the total number of recoveries in the country to 28,459 with another 15,958 people still in treatment.

In the same time frame, 741 people have tested positive including 560 people in Male' area and 156 from the atolls. HPA did not clarify numbers in terms of locals and foreigners.

As per HPA, out of the 741 cases being reported today, 515 cases are positive cases from samples collected between 6pm of 15th May and 6pm of 16th May.

So far, there have been 97 COVID-related deaths in the Maldives that includes 86 locals, 11 foreign nationals.
