Photos of former President Mohamed Nasheed's injuries from the bomb blast have been publicized.

While the family has shared photos of Nasheed's extensive injuries from the bomb blast, his family notes that his courage has not waned.

President Nasheed's brother Dr. Ibrahim Nashid said that the photos have been publicized with the consent of President Nasheed and that the photos show his injuries.

"His injuries are severe, but I can sense how courageous and strong he is," Dr. Ibrahim Nashid said.

From the photos, surgical scars are visible across the chest and the abdomen area. Additional injuries can be seen on the left chest area as well as several areas on the left side of the body. Most of the wounds were dressed with bandages.

President Nasheed who departed to Germany last Thursday for further treatment is now being treated at a military hospital in the German capital, Berlin. The family had revealed that scans were underway yesterday, before his admission to the hospital for treatment.

President Nasheed narrowly escaped an assassination attempt on May 6th, when a bomb blast was triggered which was targeted at him.

A special team of doctors from ADK operated on President Nasheed for over 16 hours to save his life.
