Gaafu Alifu Atoll Dhaandhoo has been placed under monitoring after two people who consulted at the island's Health Center has tested positive for COVID-19.

Manager of the Dhaandhoo Health Center, Ahmed Latheef told One Online today that two women consultant with a fever on Monday. And the results for the samples collected for them came back last night and they were both positive.

He said that the two women had not traveled out of the island recently. However, a person who arrived from Male' City had tested positive in quarantine but there had been reports that the person had been breaching quarantine and visit the shop attached to the house. And the two women also said that they got I'll after visiting the shop.

Latheef said that those who are going on to quarantine are repeatedly advised not to breach quarantine but there cannot be a person monitoring them all the time. He advised everyone to follow the regulations set by the Health Protection Agency (HPA).

While the contact tracing is underway for the two most recent cases, anyone who came in to contact with them is advised to share that information.

Currently, there are 44 islands under lock down across the country.
