The total number of COVID-19 recoveries has risen to 26,795 after another 248 people have recovered from the illness.

Health Protection Agency (HPA) said that from 6 p.m. yesterday to 6 p.m. today, 248 people recovered from COVID-19 raising the total number of recoveries in the country to 26,795 with another 11,629 people still in treatment.

In the same time frame, 1,501 people have tested positive including 1,229 people in Male' area and 265 from the atolls. HPA did not clarify numbers in terms of locals and foreigners.

As per HPA, out of the 1501 cases being reported today, 662 cases are positive cases from samples collected between 6pm of 10th May and 6pm of 11th May.

So far, there have been 87 COVID-related deaths in the Maldives that includes 76 locals, 11 foreign nationals.
