Speaker of Parliament and President Mohamed Nasheed has been rushed to ADK Hospital after an explosion went off as he was about to enter his car tonight.

Media Director for the Parliament confirmed to "One" that the Speaker has been taken to ADK Hospital following the explosion.

While a motorcycle has exploded during this incident, President Nasheed and his bodyguard was injured. However, no further details of their injuries were available.

"One" has learned that Speaker Nasheed is being treated at the Operation Theater after receiving an injury to his eyes.

One Online journalists on scene at ADK Hospital has reported that ADK has amped up their security, with no one being allowed to enter the hospital as well. Police have also blocked the Kenereege Area in Majeedhee Magu as they investigate the scene further.
