Maldives has reported a second COVID-19 related death raising the total COVID-related deaths in the country to 76.

Health Protection Agency (HPA) said that an 83-year-old man being treated at the Lhaviyani Atoll Hospital in Naifaru passed away at 12:30 p.m. today.

This is the second COVID-related death in the past 12 hours. A 77-year-olf local woman being treated at the Hulhumale' Medical Facility passed away late last night.

With these two deaths, a rotor 67 locals and nine foreigners have passed away due to COVID-19 complications in the Maldives.

The first COVID-related death was reported in the country on 29 April 2020 following the death of an 83-year-old woman.
