The name of the Environment Ministry has been changed and the Policy Secretary the President's Office, Aminath Shauna, has been appointed as the Minister of Environment, Climate Change and Technology.
And the former Minister of Environment and Energy, Dr. Hussain Rasheed Hassan was appointed as the Minister of Fisheries and Agriculture.
President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih changed the name of the Environment Ministry this morning.
The President's Office said that with the name change, the newly named Ministry of Environment, Climate Change and Technology will be taking on the responsibilities of the former Ministry of Communication, Science and Technology along with the employees of the ministry.
With these changes to the cabinet of President Solih, the former Fisheries Minister, Zaha Waheed, on a MRM slot for the coalition government, has been moved as the new Minister at the President's Office. And the Dr. Hussain Rasheed Hassan, who was serving as the Environment Minister on a Jumhoory Party slot, has taken her position as the Fisheries Minister.
And the vacant position of Policy Secretary at the President's Office was filled today by Ahmed Hameed upon the appointment by the President.
