The Judiciary Committee of the Parliament has questioned the independence of the Legal Counsel at the President's Office.

At the Judiciary Committee of the Parliament held a press conference today, the Committee critized the the Legal Counsel to the President, Ahmed Abdul Afeel

The question of confidence regarding the Legal Counsel to the President, Ahmed Abdul Afeef was raised by the Chair of the Committee, MP Imthiyaz Fahumee at the press conference Judiciary Committee of Parliament after press conference last night by the President's Office calling out delays by the Parliament.

In response to Afeef's comments last night, MP Imthiyaz said that Legal Counsel Afeef, who is also on the Settlement Committee an a member of the legal firm representing Madhu College, is an in-law of the Chairman of Mandhu College, Ibrahim Ismail.

At the government press conference last night, Afeef said that he is exempt from the talks of the Settlement Committee when the topic of Mandhu College arises.
