The Maldivian Parliament has approved to join the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation in South East Asia (TAC).
President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih sent for Parliament approval to join the Treaty upon the advise from his cabinet ministers.
The Parliament approval came with the vote of 47 of the 50 MPs present at the session today.
TAC is a treaty signed in 1976 by the countries in the Association for South East Asian Nations (ASEAN) for the purpose of maintaining relations between the countries within a certain criteria.
It includes strengthening toes between the countries, being peace to the region and protect the interests of the individuals in the treaty.
